Perfect Teeth: Fixing Issues with Crooked and Bad Teeth

We all know what our perfect smile would look like, and for some people having a few teeth out of alignment or living with an overbite or underbite can be very frustrating. In some cases, feeling like you’ve got bad teeth can even have a negative impact on your self esteem and cause a range of other issues. If you've got crooked teeth or have a few teeth that aren't in alignment, there's nothing better than seeing a professional and finally getting your smile straightened out. Getting your teeth aligned can give you a real confidence boost, making you feel better when speaking to others or even getting your photo taken. What's more, getting your teeth fixed may not be as expensive or as uncomfortable as you might think because there is a huge variety of solutions to give you straight teeth.

What options are there?

Braces are the traditional method of straightening your teeth. In some cases, depending on the level of complexity of your case, they can be more effective than options which are completely invisible, and can be used to fix the vast majority of problems related to crooked teeth. Teenagers in particular may enjoy having the choice of coloured braces, while older patients or those who don't want to draw attention to their mouth can opt for clear braces or Invisalign, which offer a more subtle look.Braces offer a simple solution to fixing any misaligned teeth that you have, and although you’ll have to get used to them at first, they effectively provide great results and are easily adjusted for your changing mouth. If the idea of braces doesn't appeal to you, then an invisible alternative is Invisalign which straightens your teeth through alignment trays that you wear all the time except during eating and drinking. In terms of appearance, they are similar to a retainer although they’re very thin and perfectly shaped to your teeth. It's an ideal solution if you don't want it to be obvious that you are wearing braces, plus you can remove your Invisalign trays during meals or for any special occasions if you think it’s necessary.Invisalign does require you to be a bit more strict than traditional braces. You'll have to wear the aligner for 22 hours a day, and change your trays every two weeks. However, the invisible benefits and the bonus of taking out the trays while you eat might make you want to choose this option over traditional braces.
